Boys Over Flowers (Episode 5)

As she’s getting bullied in a really bad way, Jandi thinks about all the other times that Ji Hoo saved her but now realizes that no one will be there to save her this time… but JUN PYO ARRIVES TO SAVE HER! He beats up her classmates.
And tells her he’s sorry. Really liked this scene, the way he held her and got his fancy coat all dirty ♥.
He says he believes her ♥. (ABOUT DAMN TIME.) alsjdkfls Minho was perfect in this scene; more than being really angry with the people who threw her off her bike and threw stuff at her, he looked mostly furious with himself.

He helps her clean up, but continues to insult her, like, “Are you stupid? You should have ran away!!!”
I think he … wants to kiss her again when he’s cleaning her face XD. But he stops himself and tells her to clean herself up. Then he goes outside to calm himself down (LMAO) and pout.

F2 brings Min Ji (K-Sakurako; I finally know her name!) to see Jun Pyo. All the actors were so good in this scene. LMH is really … leader-ish. Like his face and the way he carries himself like he’s always in perfect control of the situation. It also has a lot to do with his height (for example, in the Japanese version, Matsujun was also effective, but I also felt like the other F4 guys could totally take him in a fight XD), I suppose, lol. Plus the way F2 stayed quiet during Jun Pyo’s interrogation of Min Ji was aces!!

Flashback to F4 kids! You can see Jun Pyo reading, Ji Hoo playing his violin, Ee Jung making little clay cups, and … I think Woo Bin is playing …. some kind of board version of Command and Conquer, maybe?   SOMETHING LIKE THAT.

Turns out little Jun Pyo was a major asswipe to little Min Ji. And she never forgot how they looked at her like she was a monster. I don’t remember feeling too sorry for Sakurako in the Japanese version, but I did feel quite sympathetic toward Min Ji here, until she started groveling. Jun Pyo even says that although he doesn’t remember the incident, he did something he is sorry for. (Tsukasa in the Japanese version most certainly did not apologize for this, although in that version, he was the one that got beaten up by Sakurako’s goons, not Makino.)
But she doesn’t want to hear that he’s sorry, she wants to hear that HE WANTS HER. All the plastic surgery, she got for him. He tells her that he feels sorry for her; she’s pathetic and still the same monster she was back in kindergarten. No, worse, because at least when Min Ji was a kid, she had a beautiful heart (she chased away a bee for him). Ouch. Great scene ♥. (Woo Bin: I DON’T RLY WANT TO BE HERE.)
Jun Pyo goes to find Jandi ♥. Dammit, I love them more than is healthy. He says he threw away all her clothes and bag cause they were all dirty and ripped. She gets angry and asks why clothes just can’t be washed and fixed, “I AM THE DAUGHTER OF A DRY CLEANERS!!”

The next morning, Jandi wakes up to find herself being waited on! Jun Pyo had ordered his staff to replace her clothes, bag, and bike ♥. And I really like the actor playing the butler ♥. So cute! He says that, on Jun Pyo’s orders, he spent all night trying to find exact replacements for her stuff.

MEANWHILE. JUN PYO IS OVER AT JANDI’S HOUSE. I LOVE HOW HER BROTHER OPENS TO DOOR TO HIM AND THEN SHUTS IT IN HIS FACE XDDDDDDDDDD. ALSO HER FAMILY’S REACTIONS!!! PRICELESS.
He eats their food. They’re worried since he’s probably never eaten this kind of food before. The mom apologizes for not knowing what rich young masters eat, lol.
They get excited when he does recognize one of the dishes! WHY SO CUTE, FAMILY!! Jun Pyo also looks pleased with himself.
Jandi goes back to school, where everyone’s looking at that dreaded monitor again XD. This time, it’s an article with pictures of Min Ji’s “ugly past” and addiction to plastic surgery. Ginger throwing in English phrases is so funny, lol. (And the actress playing her is pretty.
Even though Min Ji stabbed her in the back, she calls the terrible trio out on their own plastic surgeries and tells them there’s nothing wrong with Min Ji wanting to get plastic surgery too.
Min Ji hears Jandi defending her. Jandi slaps her twice (a rather saintly thing for Jandi to do, really; I WOULD HAVE RIGHT NUCLEAR PUNCHED HER) and tells her, “Don’t flatter yourself by thinking I’ll forgive you.” I think Min Ji leaves school…? Leaves town?? I dunno. But she leaves the stuffed bear for Jandi, telling her, “Thank you… let’s meet again.” Quite open-ended, no? I wonder how closely this Korean version is going to follow the jdrama in this aspect…
JUN PYO HAS SOME EXCITING NEWS! HE RINGS A BELL LMAO LMAO LMAOOOO. HE OFFICIALLY ANNOUNCES THAT JANDI IS HIS GIRLFRIEND XDDD ♥. NOT EVERYONE IS HAPPY.
Jun Pyo says that from now on, doing anything against Jandi is the same thing as doing something against Jun Pyo and PERPETRATORS WILL SUFFERRRRRRRRRRR THE CONSEQUENCES. “I OBJECT!” (NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooOOOOOOOoooooOOOO.) “WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?!” lol no one actually says that, but this is what I’m screaming in my head. I love Hyunjoong and want to see more of him, of course, but seriously JI HOO IS THE ROOT OF ALL PROBLEMS.
Jandi gets home to find out a whole bunch of new furniture and appliances crammed into her apartment, compliments of Jun Pyo~. Jandi says that they have to return everything cause there’s not enough space.

She goes to find Jun Pyo, who is adorably engrossed in a driving game while F3 are chilling with the ladies. LMAO, I laughed so hard. He’s really like a fish out of water. Really nice touch ♥. Jandi says that they have to talk. Jun Pyo doesn’t look up from his video game, so she blocks his way until he shoves her out of the way XD.
Jun Pyo tells her that he’s her boyfriend now so he’ll provide for her, lol. She asks him if he does this to all his girlfriends and tells him, “I told you, you don’t buy friends with money, but with your heart!” He seems to consider this and she goes on, “I don’t know what girls you’ve dated before, but this really annoys me, okay?!” alsjdkfls homg this was so cute. He says that he’s never dated anyone before ♥♥♥!! She’s the first girl he’s ever acknowledged after all. She softens a little after that, but then explodes again. He tsk-tsks at her temper XD.
Jandi looks around to see the other guys with girls and asks Jun Pyo if he plays like this all the time. Jun Pyo smirks at her and asks if she’s worried, before explaining that he usually doesn’t bring girls in here, but today’s a party!
I thought Jun Pyo looked so handsome here XD ♥♥♥. Not to mention CALCULATING! Jandi looks visibly upset/shocked at seeing Ji Hoo with these girls. (Much more toned down than in this scene in the Japanese version, though! When Rui got back, he was making out with like three different girls…)
Ee Jung wonders what’s up with Ji Hoo. Jun Pyo says that Ji Hoo is not as pathetic (and reserved) anymore, that he’s acting more like a person, “First time in a long time that I like him.” (I’m loving this drama, but I don’t really feel the Jun Pyo – Ji Hoo friendship at all…. they don’t even seem to acknowledge each other.

MORE JUN PYO – JANDI :D. SUCH A CUTE SCENE. He rolls out a coin to her and hides and laughs himself silly watching Jandi get so excited over 500 won. Then he drags her off to a department store.
His staff tell Jun Pyo that the store can’t be cleared out just yet. Jun Pyo is all, “YOU EXPECT ME TO WAIT THREE HOURS?” and then sets off to clear out the store in his own way: by setting off the fire alarm. Everyone freaks out and rushes for the exit, while Jun Pyo is about it.
ALTHOUGH I DON’T THINK HE HAS GOOD JUDGMENT LOL. Those were monstrosities of a flower shirt and rose-colored jeans he chose for himself. But … I think he pulls them off? Really well, actually? I can’t believe my bias has come to this!

THEY’RE GOING ON A TRIP. BUT FIRST EE JUNG MUST GET GAEUL TO COME ALONG TOO. *explodes* Their chemistry is through the roof!!!
He lets her believe that Jandi’s been in an accident and they have to leave RIGHT NOW if they want to see her XD.
VROOM TO JUN PYO’S PRIVATE PLANE. He tells Jandi that he got permission from her parents for her to go on this trip and he’s even brought Jandi’s friend along so they wouldn’t be too worried, isn’t he nice?
Fancy plane *___*. Jandi asks Jun Pyo if she’s even close enough to him to go on vacation with him and why didn’t he just ask for her opinion first! (This must be to spite all of us fans watching this and WISHING WE WERE IN HER PLACE, lmao.) He says that he wanted to go somewhere nice with her, so all preparations have been taken care of.
Jandi and GaEul think about the porridge shop and decide that this won’t do, they have to go. (Where? They’re already in the air!) They stop in their tracks when Jandi spots a sleeping Ji Hoo and when the flight attendant brings out a yummy meal. HOT BOYS AND FOOD MAKE EVERYTHING BETTER, THIS IS TRUE!

NEW CALEDONIA IS SOOOOOOOOOOOO BEAUTIFUL. JEALOUSY! She’s there with four hot guys, too.

The girls go to get their fortunes told. I don’t know why I found this so funny, but I FOUND IT SUPER. Loved it ♥! The fortune teller tells Jandi that she sees her husband and her soulmate on this island, with her. BUT THEY ARE TWO DIFFERENT MEN. (EXCUSE ME, WHAT?) And then the fortune teller tells Jandi that she’s gonna lose something important … as a woman…. *DYING* ah this was a great scene.
Jandi awakes screaming … we learn that whole fortune-teller encounter was a dream. She’s about to tell Ga Eul about her dream, but Jun Pyo suddenly shows up and informs her, “You’re going somewhere with me … you’ll know when we get there.”
She asks Ga Eul to help her. Jun Pyo asks Ee Jung to help him and Ee Jung stops Ga Eul from getting up, lolololol. Ga Eul tells Jandi, “Be strong!” and Ee Jung asks her, “What, is Jandi going to war now?”
Ee Jung gets to babysit Ga Eul, which he clearly doesn’t want to do, lol. But Ga Eul is enchanted by the scenery (it’s her first time in New Caledonia) and wants to take pictures. She runs up to get a better view, while he tries to calm himself down with, “I must be patient, I must be patient.
Then she screams and he runs after her, trying to find her. Turns out she’s just tricked him into going to the top for a nicer view. She says this is payback for him lying to her about Jandi being in an accident. Ee Jung tells her it wasn’t a complete lie and “those two— it’s only a matter of time.” LOADED WORDS!! Ga Eul is all NO THAT’S NOT HAPPENING!!! and Ee Jung asks her, “What are you imagining?” Then he breaks out into a big, knowing smile :D!

Meanwhile, Jun Pyo and Jandi are out on their date … so romantic *sighs*. (I swear, this damn drama makes me feel like I’m a high schooler again lol. I’m old, so that was years ago XD.) Also I’m starting to love that ‘One More Time’ song … probably because it’s played during all my favorite Jun Pyo – Jandi parts.
Jandi is amazed and asks how he did all of this? Is he a genie? Jun Pyo flips out and asks “Who is ‘genie’? Who is that jerk?!” LOL. She has to explain she means the genie from Aladdin’s lamp. The following conversation was absolute aces asljdfkls. Nyuh ♥. I love them so much. She tells him that the genie can’t do everything, like it can’t kill anyone or bring anyone back to life or … make people fall in love.  Jun Pyo says he’s better than the genie. I’ll say! They don’t make genies this handsome!
Jun Pyo phones Jandi’s family and lets her talk to them :). Her family is ALL KINDS OF STOKED that she’s with Jun Pyo. Jun Pyo watches all of this, notices she’s about to cry, and hesitatingly asks if he did something wrong… She says he didn’t and that she’s thankful for everything he’s done for her. Really, really touching scene ♥.

Boys Over Flowers (Episode 4)

Everyone says goodbye to K-Shizuka at the airport.  Ji Hoo doesn’t show up until after she’s left and Jandi calls him out on it.  Ji Hoo tells her that, thanks to Jandi and what she said to him, he’s going to go after K-Shizuka.  YES.  I have to confess that I’ve never really been too fond of or sympathetic to the Rui character (regardless of who is playing him; I’m a big fan of Hyunjoong and Oguri Shun, you know!), so I was pretty happy to see him go XD. Clears the way for Jun Pyo-Jandi!

Jun Pyo and Jandi hang out by Jun Pyo’s car as K-Shizuka and Ji Hoo’s plane takes off in the distance. He looks at her. And debates on what he should do. He puts his coffee down on the car and leans over her, boxing her in with his arms. He tells her that he’s going to say something only once and that she should listen very carefully. Right when he says that they should “date”, a plane flies overhead and drowns out his words. So she has no idea what he said.

The next day, he storms into the cafeteria (in a beanie, swoooooooon!) and says to her, “Saturday, 4:00, Namsam Tower.” He turns to leave while Jandi is still probably thinking. He turns back to the table and tells her that if she’s even a minute late, he’ll kill her XD.

She doesn’t show up at 4:00 of course, so he waits FOUR HOURS in the snow for her. THIS IS TRUE LOVE, YOU GUYS. She finally shows up and asks him what kind of idiot would wait four hours in the snow for someone?! He tells her, “You came,” like that resolves everything. And it does :). She offers to buy him coffee. And they stand on the top of the tower, looking at glorious lights of the city. I was looking at Jun Pyo’s hair and LMAO-ing. SERIOUSLY! THOSE ARE TORNADO CURLS! Jandi points out a star, Jun Pyo calls her stupid and tells her it’s actually a satellite, Jandi says he’s retarded because how can they’re be so many satellites in the sky, Jun Pyo calls her an idiot, etc, etc. It’s really cute :).
They get locked in and have to spend the night together in … a skytram?! This was one of my favorite scenes in the jdrama and I hate to say it, but it was more effective in the jdrama. I wish they got stuck in a small elevator. Or someplace that didn’t have such a nice view, lmao. But it was still super cute! He has something to tell her. So he leans closer and closer to her…. HE LOOKS SO DERANGED HERE XDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD.  But also so handsome.  Damn, I love his face structure :*. He slumps against her and she shoves him away. She notices he looks really sick and feels his head. WHY SO CUTE, OTP!
She puts a blanket around him ^___^. I wish she took off her scarf for him too. That was another thing I really, really, really liked about the jdrama elevator scene. The next morning, they are discovered by the dude that locked them in.
Jandi freaks out because she doesn’t know how to explain this to her mom. Jun Pyo tells her that they did spend the night together so he’ll take care of this. He said it with such a cheeky look on his face too hahahahahahahaha! Jandi kicks him in the shin. But this picture, isn’t it perfect? When Jandi gets home, her parents are ecstatic that she was gone all night without telling them XDDD. They’re like, “You were with Jun Pyo! How can thing not be okay!!”

Pictures of Jun Pyo whispering into Jandi’s ear (it looks like he’s gonna kiss her~) are posted up at school. Jandi tries to deny that there’s anything going on between her and Jun Pyo, but Jun Pyo shows up and says that it’s all true XD! K-Sakurako (crap I don’t know her Korean name either) is noticeably upset at this news and then freaks out when Jandi tries to look through her Shinhwa preschool yearbook. The actress is great; she really looked psychotic in her scenes! Well done!

MEANWHILE. Ee Jung goes to visit Ga-Eul! HOMG EPIC! LSJDFKLSEIFJLDSK ♥. I know the Tsukasa-Makino pairing takes up most of my attention, but I honestly and truly love the Soujiroh-Yuki pairing as well. I hope they get a lot of good scenes together because the actors playing these roles are so … perfect for each other *sighs*. Kim Bum is seriously too cute to be real. And the actress playing Ga-Eul, I don’t know her name, but she sure is sweet looking and pretty and so cute ♥♥♥!

Back at the club, Jandi gets lured by a guitar-playing stranger (who has nothing on Ji Hoo, thank you very much), ends up drinking too much (or drinking a spiked drink) and passes out. She wakes up the next morning, in a hotel room with her clothes strewn all over the ground, and a lipsticked note in the mirror that reads, “Thanks for last night!” She screams in horror.

We cut to Jun Pyo, who is trying so very, very, very hard to make himself more appealing to Jandi. God, this was such a cute scene! He’s wearing a uniform! And having his hair straightened!! (Remember that when he asked Jandi what exactly she hated so much about him, she listed his curly hair and the fact he never wears a school uniform, among other things?) Woo Bin asks if it’s even possible for Jun Pyo’s hair to be straightened and Ee Jung complains that they’ve been waiting for him for 2 hours already. ALSO DYING AT HOW JUN PYO MADE THE OTHER TWO WEAR THEIR UNIFORMS TOO. THIS IS TRUE FRIENDSHIP!
The terrible trio grab Jandi on her way into class. And yell at her for making a mockery out of Jun Pyo and F4. She doesn’t seem to know what they’re talking about, so they show her some pictures on a monitor.
The next scene is one of the best in the drama so far, imo. Very well-acted and I could feel my heart breaking during it. Jun Pyo walks in with his school uniform and straightened hair and he basically looks perfect. I loved Jandi’s reaction to seeing him styled like that ♥. Jun Pyo demands to know what the hell is going on. And he says coldly to the terrible trio, “Who the hell are you to bother her?” ♥ It’s so awesome how he defends her.
The terrible trio tell Jun Pyo that Jandi is playing him for a fool and that he should just look at the pictures. aljskdls guh this was some awesome acting from Goo Hye Sun. She immediately sides in front of the monitor and tries to stop Jun Pyo from seeing anything. He pushes her out of the way and sees the pictures of Jandi in bed with a mystery man. Also some awesome acting from LMH … there were so many emotions that flashed across his face in that moment ♥.
He asks slowly, “Is this the kind of woman you really are?” Holy, I loved GHS’s face here. She looked so hurt that he wouldn’t believe her. He grabs her by her collar and tells her, “I going to ask just one thing. That person in the pictures … is that really you, Geum Jandi?” She, of course, can’t deny it, so he lets her go. And says, “From now on, I don’t know who you are.” T______________________T MY BREAKING HEART.
With that, he walks away and doesn’t look back. Jandi’s classmates pull at her hair and clothes, but she doesn’t even seem to pay them any attention … she just watches Jun Pyo walk away. SUCH A GOOD SCENE!!!!

His friends are worried. (And hot.) They say that he hasn’t been this upset since his sister’s wedding. When Jun Pyo jumps into his car and speeds away, nearly running over some students, his friends decide that something needs to be done before Jun Pyo actually kills someone. They meet up with Jandi and Ga-Eul to look at those hotel pictures again.
They quickly figure out that there was definitely a third person in that room, a person taking the pictures! And that third person was probably the owner of the lipstick used to write the “Thanks for last night” note left on the mirror.  Okay, FINE, I just wanted more caps of Kim Bum’s perfect face.
Further examination reveals that the mystery guy has a tattoo! Ee Jung and Woo Bin decide they have all the information they need and set off, telling Jandi not to worry.

He goes to THE hotel room. And hesitates a lot (why so cute!) before he goes in. He throws a fit and K-Sakurako magically appears to tell him to CHILLAX. She says it’s not right for THE Jun Pyo to get so worked up over a commoner like Jandi. He is incredulous and grabs her by her jacket (he seems to really like doing this to people XDD I THINK IT’S RLY VERY HOT, THOUGH), saying he thought her and Jandi were friends. And why is she saying such bad things about a friend? K-Sakurako says that Jandi “took Sunbae away.”  He leaves, presumably to find Jandi. She begs him not to go. He sneers and throws her off. CRIES WHY IS HIS FACE SO PERFECT.

At school, Jandi takes a nasty fall on her bike, courtesy of her evil classmates. They’ve also set her bike on fire.  She gets up and tells them to go on. They do, throwing tomatoes at her and spraying her down with a fire extinguisher.   I really think Goo Hye Sun is doing a tremendous job with the role.   Especially in the more emotional scenes like this one.  Very different from Inoue Mao’s version, but that’s not a bad thing at all imo.  Jandi is so bad ass!  I love her!

Boys Over Flowers (Episode 3)

Jandi “saves” Jun Pyo from drowning.  I take back what I said about the two of them not having chemistry; I must have been sleepwalking through the first two eps or something because they totally have it!  IN SPADES!  She gives him CPR while everyone else just stands around … and waits for him to die?  XDD;;  lol I dunno why no one ran for help. Then he tries to make her kiss him again XD. He gets up and grins at her.  Man, this boy is a cutie.  She punches him HARD but he continues to smile :D! His friends, Woo Bin and Ee Jung, smile with pride.

Jun Pyo is in a very good mood after this incident ^___^. He tells his household that they need to chillax. And then he looks outside the window to see there’s a storm brewing and declares, “It’s such a nice day!” His household looks at him like he’s grown three heads.  OH!  And how hilarious was he messing up the “early bird gets the worm” adage!  He said “the early worm dies first.”

Hyunjoong is still stiff, but he’s improved a lot from the last episode so this is promising! He breaks his violin strings and cuts his finger; Jandi comes to wrap it up in a hankerchief. Then she puts her umbrella over his violin, which I thought was so sweet T___T.
The terrible trio catches all of this on camera and show it to Jun Pyo (lounging around in Jandi’s pool with big white sunglasses lmao I just love him).
He doesn’t take it too well and throws the girl’s camera on the ground. I get such a kick out of watching him be mean to those girls, lmao. He confronts her where Ji Hoo always plays his violin, tells her she’s playing him for a fool, and forcibly tries to kiss her.   She fights him off and he stops and asks her, “Do you hate it that much?” before walking away.  This was a superb scene, great acting from both leads.  I CAN’T STOP REPLAYING IT!  Everything about this scene was just perfect.  CHEMISTRY!  AND INTENSITY!

lol I thought this was a kind of awkward kiss (the angle of his head looks uncomfortable), but it was still lovely. And bittersweet. Jandi is standing right outside of the door and witnesses all of this.
Jun Pyo catches her. AND THEN THEY PROCEED TO LOOK RIDICULOUSLY CUTE STANDING NEXT TO EACH OTHER.

He says he’s rented the place for the night so Jandi can cry and scream and do whatever she want to let out frustration about K-Shizuka (crap, i don’t remember what her Korean name is) and Ji Hoo kissing. And then he proceeds to say that if Ji Hoo had met Jandi first, before K-Shizuka, Ji Hoo would have fallen for Jandi. She looks at Jun Pyo questioningly and he tells her that she’s the only girl that he’s ever acknowledged. DYING SO HARD YOU GUYS!!! I also thought it was hilarious how he referred to himself in the third person and added the honorable -nim to his name.

She wakes up the next morning in his bed and he’s reading the Wall Street Journal XDDD. Loved that! There’s even an article about Obama and the Democrat party on the front page!

Jun Pyo finds out his mom has returned and he freaks out and calls all of the other F4 guys to figure out what to do about Jandi. Jun Pyo’s mom is seriously intense. The actress is so perfect for the part too! Totally has a Cruella deVil look about her. They put Jandi in a ridiculous dress and tell Jun Pyo’s mom that she’s their friend, a cute little sophomore they are training to be their F4 mascot.

Jandi begs K-Shizuka to stay. Ji Hoo hears all of this. ANGST! Later he meets up with Jandi and tells her to stay out of his business. I really liked these scenes. Love Hyunjoong’s expression here.
